Wedding Pricing

We offer all inclusive wedding packages of three, four or seven nights. These have been very popular - couples seem to like knowing exactly what they will be paying and with this system there are no nasty surprises!

The minimum number of guests for a wedding package is 14. The maximum
we can accommodate on site is 20 plus the odd child or two in cots,
fold up beds etc.

Other hotels are ten minutes away and we can cater for a total of 50 guests for a wedding.

Prices are all in UK sterling and all costs are subject to VAT,
which currently adds around 10 per cent to the prices.

The all inclusive package includes accommodation with breakfast and dinner each day except the night before the wedding, all
house drinks (soft drinks, hot drinks, wines, beers).

Lunch is included on the wedding day but not other days as guests tend to want
to explore.

The wedding day includes everything except flowers, silk lining for
the marquee, the celebrant,  chairs (hire charge is anything from 3 euro to 20 euro a chair),
bands, DJs etc (most people go for an ipod with their own music).

The wedding day includes a sandwich lunch, canapes and sparkling toast
after the service, the wedding meal, another sparkling toast, finger
food in the evening. All drinks as before.

The package includes a traditional French wedding cake, which is a conical tower of profiterols called a Croque en bouche. We serve it as a desert with a chocolate fountain to dip profiterols in.

A three day package is £600 plus VAT per person. Includes accommodation, food and drink as specified.

A four day package is £800. seven day on request. All plus VAT. Minimum of 14 guests.

Babies in high chairs are free. Other children under 14 are £450 for three days, £550 for four days  - all plus VAT.

Guests just attending the day of the wedding cost from £150 per person plus VAT (hotels nearby are around 90 euro for a double room) . Children under 14 are £95 plus TVA for the day of the wedding. Includes food and drink from 11am to Midnight.

The extras

Silk lining for the marquee is £450 plus VAT

Hairdressers/make up artists are not expensive and will come to the
house. Hair tends to be around 26 euro and make up 9 euro.

Flowers can be anything depending on your requirements - we use an English speaking florist.
Photographer 800 to 2,000 euro.
Music - band or singer tends to be 500 to 1,000 euro. Very few guests at Le Castel end up with live music -
most use an ipod

Posher chairs are  extra as everyone wants something different (allow 2 - 17 euro each). The most popular ones are the white chair covers, which feature in some of the photos on this site. Other options are very elegant white Napoleon III chairs.

For 22 guests and less we offer a three course sit down meal, which includes a  cold starter, hot or cold main course, French wedding cake with chocolate fountain.
For 23 to 50 guests we do a plated started followed by a buffet and then French wedding cake with chocolate fountain.

There is a minium three night hire period for accommodation at Le Castel for a wedding. We can sleep up to 20 people at Le Castel plus a few extra babies. There is a seven night minimum hire in school holidays.

There are four suites in the main house, which each have two bedrooms. Most of the bedrooms are ensuite and can be used as separate rooms rahter than suites. There is a cottage in the grounds, which has two bedrooms.
Other hotels are ten minutes away.

The Blessing

Generally couples at Le Castel have a low key legal service in the UK and then have a spectacular blessing in the grounds of Le Castel.

There are three options for the celebrant:

  • Most of the time we use an ex army officer who has the required amount of humour and gravitas for a service. He asks for a donation to an army charity – usually around 300 euro.
  • We can arrange an Anglican priest for around 300 euro;
  • Or you can draft in a friend or relative to conduct the service for you – this is a very popular option.

It is very difficult to have a legal marriage ceremony in France

Here's how a four night package would work:

Guests arrive around 4pm
Sparkling wine toast when everyone is here
Evening - A curry and pasta buffet with three or four curries, rice, chutneys etc plus a couple of pastas
A day to explore Mont St Michel, Bayeux or the D Day beaches.
Dinner at a restaurant - payable by guests. We can recommend great restaurants from around 30 euro a head
Sandwich lunch
Sparkling wine toast
Hot and cold buffet with salads and traditional French wedding cake of profiteroles in or around the marquee. Table set up can be as formal or informal as you like.
Finger food in the evening
Brunch (or breakfast for those with smaller hangovers)
Sight seeing if anyone is up for it!
Early evening buffet or BBQ in the grounds of Le Castel.
Breakfast and good byes.

There is good availability for 2020.

At other times you can have a three or four night package. Four nights tend to be our most popular.
